Continuing to work in line with the vision of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer to make Izmir a sports city, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organized a night run and bike ride on December 21, the longest day of the year. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer also participated in the 6,5 km run, which started in front of Konak Ferry Port and witnessed colorful images.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality crowned the longest night of the year, December 21, with sports, in line with the vision of Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer to make Izmir a city of sports. Nearly a thousand runners and more than 150 cyclists participated in the event held between Konak Ferry Terminal and Üçkuyular İzmir Marina. President Soyer and his wife Neptün Soyer, together with the participants gathered in front of the Clock Tower, did warm-up exercises accompanied by music before the run.

Participants, including Chairman Tunç Soyer, followed Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard and completed the 6,5 kilometer track at İzmir Marina. In the organization where colorful images were created along the track, hot soup, doner kebab and hot drink were offered to the participants who reached the finish line in İzmir Marina.

Cycling groups accompanied

Starting in front of Konak Ferry Pier, Mayor Soyer and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department Head Hakan Orhunbilge, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club President Ersan Odaman, representatives of sports clubs, cycling groups, bureaucrats. and citizens participated. Participants in jogging and cycling colored the night with illuminated ornaments and lanterns.
