Kandamış - Ortaca villages section of Hayrabolu - Tekirdağ Road and Tekirdağ Ring Road Muratlı Köprülü Junction Branch, which was built to provide high standard connection of Hayrabolu to Tekirdağ and to meet the transportation needs of the settlements in the region, was put into service with a ceremony held on Monday, December 6th. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, as well as deputies, bureaucrats and citizens attended the ceremony.

“We are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Tekirdağ's transportation network”

Speaking at the opening, Minister Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Tekirdağ, together with Istanbul, is a very important center that revitalizes the country's economy. Karaismailoğlu stated that as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Tekirdağ's transportation network, and said, “With this awareness, we continue our work on a 7/24 service basis. About a year ago, on November 28, 2020, we put the 13-kilometer section from Hayrabolu to Kandamış into service. Today, we are experiencing the joy and pride of putting the 7-kilometer section between the Kandamış-Ortaca Villages and the Muratlı Köprülü Junction Branch on the Tekirdağ Ring Road into service.” he said.

“When the entire project is completed, it will be easier for Tekirdağ Port and the industrial zones in the region to reach Kapıkule”

Underlining that with the completion of the Hayrabolu-Tekirdağ Road, the existing road standard of 2×1 standard and 7 meters wide will become a 2×2 lane BSK coated divided divided road, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the transportation of Tekirdağ and Hayrabolu, which has an important place in agriculture and animal husbandry in our country, will be much easier. He noted that it would be modern, fast and safe.

Stating that huge investments have been made due to the growth rate and increasing traffic density of Tekirdağ, Minister Karaismailoğlu also gave information about the Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Highway, including the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.

Noting that the 101 km-long Malkara Çanakkale Highway is an important project that will connect the European side of our country to the North Aegean via Çanakkale, Karaismailoğlu stated that the project is of great importance not only for Tekirdağ, but also for the entire Marmara Region and our country.

“Our 2×2 lane divided highway is in bituminous hot mix coating standard”

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Uraloğlu said that with the project, rapid access to the Tekirdağ Port and the industrial zones in the region, to Kapıkule and major markets is provided. Uraloğlu stated that the project was carried out in the standard of 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mix paved divided road, and within the scope of the main work items of the opened section, 900 thousand cubic meters of earthwork, 16 thousand cubic meters of concrete, one thousand tons of iron, 155 thousand tons of plantmix foundation and sub-base, 61 thousand tons of Bituminous hot mix announced that 3.150 square meters of horizontal-vertical marking and 1.500 meters of guardrails were manufactured.

After the speeches, the opening ribbon was cut and the road was offered to the citizens.
