SSB Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir answered questions on defense industry activities in the Circle of Mind program held on CNN Türk.

President of the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir was the guest of the Circle of Mind program held on CNN Türk on December 17, 2021. In the program, where the audience can send their questions with the hashtag "#AkilÇemberi" on social media, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir made statements about the tests of AKINCI TİHA with PD222 & PD170 engines developed by TEI. In this context, Demir stated that the tests for the integration of the engine developed by TEI with both Aksungur UHA and Akıncı TİHA have begun.

Stating that Bayraktar Akıncı Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TİHA) is a top class with longer range and higher payload capacity, SSB Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir; He stated that AKINCI's prototype has been developed with a few simple features and that much more advanced versions will be released in the future. When asked about the locality and mileage rate of AKINCI TİHA on Twitter, Demir stated that the engines of AKINCI TİHA came from two different foreign sources and said that an engine developed by TEI was adapted to AKINCI TİHA and the trials started.

An alternative engine contract for AKINCI TİHA was signed with Ukraine on November 11, 2021 at the SAHA EXPO Defense and Aviation Fair. MS500 Turboprop Engine Technical Specification Agreement signed between Baykar Defense and Motor Sich for MS500 Turboprop Engines; Although it creates an alternative for AKINCI TİHA, the engine is planned to be integrated into AKINCI TİHA within a year. As reported by TRT Haber, Baykar Defense General Manager Haluk Bayraktar stated that the MS500 engine is a technologically advanced engine like the AI-450.

Bayraktar Akıncı Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

AKINCI Assault UAV (TİHA), which has a 20-meter wingspan with its unique twisted wing structure and can carry a large number of mini smart ammunition, will also be smarter and more aware of environmental conditions, thanks to its unique artificial intelligence system, and will offer advanced flight and diagnostic functions to its users.

Aiming to be a leader in its class, like the Bayraktar TB2, Akıncı will also perform some of the tasks performed by warplanes. The electronic support pod it carries will serve with much more advanced payloads such as satellite communication systems, air-to-air radars, obstacle detection radar, synthetic aperture radar. With Akıncı, which will reduce the burden of warplanes, aerial bombardment can also be carried out. Akıncı UAV, which will be equipped with air-to-air missiles developed nationally in our country, can also be used in air-air missions.
