With the decision of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center, the boarding tariffs for public transportation vehicles in the city were rearranged. There was no increase in the student tariff. Full, teacher and age 60 boarding fees were increased by an average of 35 percent. Emphasizing that the public transportation tariffs have been the same for 16 months, the President Tunç Soyer“Unfortunately, the economic conditions of the country are obvious. It was necessary to make this arrangement in order to continue to serve.” The new tariffs will be effective from 1 January.
Boarding tariffs for ESHOT, İZULAŞ, İZDENİZ, Metro-Tramway and İZBAN and ESHOT-controlled İZTAŞIT vehicles operated in partnership with TCDD-Metropolitan Municipality affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality in İzmir have been rearranged. In accordance with the decision of the Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME), the full boarding fee from 3,46 TL was increased to 4,70 TL. The first transfer fee in 120 minutes was determined as 90 kuruş, and the second transfer fee was determined as 66 kurus. Within 120 minutes of the first boarding, the third and subsequent transfers will not be charged.
No increase in student boarding
Teacher fees for 3 TL and age 60 boarding fees have been adjusted as 4,06 TL. There was no increase in the student boarding fee, which was 1,64 TL in the previous tariff. Student, Teacher and Age 60 cards are still exempt from transfer fees within 120 minutes after the first boarding. In the same way, the Public Vehicle application, which provides 05.00 percent discounted boarding service between 07.00-19.00 and 20.00-50, continues.
Only 60 percent hike in fuel
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, emphasized that they are not in favor of an increase in any service, but the current economic conditions make new regulations mandatory. Pointing out that the fees in public transportation have been applied in the same way for the last 16 months, President Soyer said, “Unfortunately, there has been an increase of more than 60 percent in fuel and energy costs in this process. Increases in PPI, CPI foreign exchange and inflation figures; It significantly increased costs in all items, from all kinds of consumables to spare parts, from service and maintenance expenses to personnel progress payments.”
Metropolitan support will continue
In the last regulation made on September 1, 2020 and the transition to the 120 Minute Transfer System, 10 cents in the full boarding fee; Reminding that there is a 16 cent discount for student boarding, President Soyer said, “In the current picture, we had to rearrange the boarding fees in order for the public transportation service to continue in a healthy way. Still, we thought of our fellow countrymen; We did not choose the numbers that should be. Based on the PPI and CPI averages, all boarding must be at least 5,08 TL. We didn't do this. Only this year, we closed the loss balance sheets of our public transportation institutions and organizations with close to 1 billion liras of our budget. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to subsidize public transportation.”

B Price Schedule
The first boarding fee for the lines serving in the surrounding districts and not included in the 120 Minute Transfer System was 4,84 TL. While the student boarding fee, which was 1,64 TL in the previous tariff, remains the same; teacher and 60 years old boarding were determined as 4,08 TL. On these lines, 05.00 percent discounted Public Transport service, which is applied between 07.00-19.00 and 20.00-50, is also valid.
C Price Schedule
In this tariff, popularly known as "Pay As You Go", the full boarding fee for the first 10 km is 4,42 TL; teacher and 60 year old boarding was 3,56 TL. After 10 km, 12 cents per km for full boarding; 60 cents will be charged for teacher and 8-year-old boarding. The student boarding fee, which was 1,44 TL in the previous tariff, remained the same. Again, after the first 10 km, the fee of 6 cents taken from the student cards will be applied in the same way. In this tariff, which is not included in the 120 Minute Transfer System, 50 percent discounted Public Vehicle service is valid.
D Price Schedule
The full boarding fee for lines 760, 761, 795, 798, 835, 837 and 883 with longer route lengths is 10,36 TL; teacher and 60 years old boarding was 6,94 TL. The student boarding fee, which was 3,20 TL in the previous tariff, remained the same. In this tariff, which is not included in the 120 Minute Transfer System, 50 percent discounted Public Vehicle service is valid.
E Price Schedule
The full boarding fee is 4,70 TL in this tariff, which is valid for buses that make rings at university campuses; teacher and 60 years old boarding was 4,06 TL. Student boarding, which was 45 cents in the previous tariff, remained the same. On these lines, which are included in the 120-minute transfer system, those who fully board will pay 90 kuruş for the first transfer and 66 kuruş for the second transfer. The third and subsequent transfers within 120 minutes will be made free of charge. The 50 percent discount Public Vehicle application is also valid in this tariff.
F Price Schedule
The full boarding fee for the lines known as Owl Lines and serving from midnight to morning is 10,36 TL; teacher and age 60 boarding was 8,16 TL. Student boarding, which was 3,28 TL in the previous tariff, remained the same. In this tariff, the 120-minute transfer system and the Public Vehicle application are not valid.
G Price Schedule
The full boarding fee for lines 200, 202, 204 and 206 serving between the airport and Mavişehir, Alsancak Cumhuriyet Square, Bornova Metro and Şirinyer Transfer Center is 10,36; teacher and 60 rides were 8,16 TL. The student boarding fee, which was 7,12 TL in the previous tariff, remained the same. In this tariff, the 120-minute transfer system and the Public Vehicle application are not valid.
