21st Seferihisar Tangerine Festival Has Started

The 21st Seferihisar Tangerine Festival has started. The orange festival of the district, which was organized for the 21st time this year by Seferihisar Municipality, has started. Reminding that they started the Tangerine Festival when he was elected as the Mayor of Seferihisar in 2009, the Mayor Tunç Soyer, “We said in 2009; Seferihisar had a tradition that had been forgotten for decades. There was a Tangerine Festival. We were interrupted, we said, 'We need to start this again,' and we did. In 2019, we received a geographical indication for our mandarin. In fact, we have done so much in Seferihisar, from the cultivation of ancestral seeds to the establishment of cooperatives, the opening of producer markets, the drying of tangerines to increase the added value, the establishment of a union… We hold the hand of our producers.

We give lifeline to our producer. We put the wild watering aside. And we brought the atalık karakılçık wheat to the Anatolian lands again. These fertile lands can provide us with a much higher quality of life than we currently experience. This is why we do politics and mayorship. But you will see, the light we started from Seferihisar becomes a bright light for İzmir and Turkey. Together we will establish a brand new Turkey. Never lose your hope. This land has everything to raise our hope. As long as we use it correctly, take care of each other and our land, let's continue to produce. Our children will be proud to be producing in these lands. They will be satisfied with what they produce in the place where they were born.”

Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Adult said, “We are facing a very serious economic crisis. Don't worry, I'm not going to come up with theories that have nothing to do with economic reality like someone else. We will come out of the crisis only by producing. Agricultural producers will get us out of the crisis. This fertile land will bring us out of the crisis. From here, I would like to thank my President Tunç once again," he said.
