Women in Eskişehir can get off the bus wherever they want after 20.00

The start time of the application, which was started by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality in 2016 for the first time in Turkey, allowing women to get off after 22 o'clock without waiting for a stop, was withdrawn by 2 hours. The project, defined as 'Positive Discrimination against Women in Transportation', had previously started at 22.00 pm. The time of the application was changed from 22.00 to 20.00, taking into account the demand from women and the fixed hour application. Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen shared the change on his social media accounts.

Metropolitan Municipality made a time change in the practice of 'Positive Discrimination against Women in Transportation', which it started by signing another first in Turkey against violence, harassment and rape against women throughout the country. In this project, which started as a pilot application on 2016 lines in 3 and was valid on all lines in 2017, female passengers could get off the buses wherever they wanted after 22.00:22.00 without waiting for a stop. The start time of the application has been changed from 20.00 to 20.00. With this change, female passengers using public transport will now be able to get off at any place on the route, without waiting for a stop, as of XNUMX:XNUMX in the evening.

Expressing that the application is very valuable, the female passengers conveyed their requests to the municipality to withdraw the 22.00 hours further with the comments they made on their social media accounts, while the Metropolitan Municipality made a survey on the Telegram channel and asked the people of Eskişehir for their opinions on this issue. Expressing that the majority of the citizens want the start time of the application to be withdrawn, Mayor Büyükerşen also announced on his social media account that the application time has been withdrawn from 22.00 to 20.00.

Expressing their happiness that their demands were concluded on a meaningful day such as November 25, Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the women thanked President Büyükerşen.
