Touristic Eastern Express, which has been suspended due to the coronavirus epidemic, starts its flights again. As preparations begin for Turkey's most popular train journey, which starts in Ankara and ends in Kars, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu is expected to announce the departure dates in the coming days.

AK Party Kars Deputy Ahmet Arslan said that they met with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu about the start of the Touristic Eastern Express at a meeting with tourism professionals at a hotel in the city.

Reminding that the Eastern Express started its flights every day, without interruption, as of July 12, Arslan said:

“There is no doubt that we will start it on a date that will not adversely affect winter tourism. This is very important for us and for you. In order not to cause cancellation of reservations for our guests who will come within the scope of winter tourism, the date will be declared and hopefully announced in a few days. It is likely that a week later, next week, our minister himself will come to Kars for some openings. It will be explained here. We will have a chance to talk about these issues again. I would like to emphasize this especially. The sentence is: The touristic Eastern Express will start in a way that will not adversely affect winter tourism, and the minister will personally explain its history in a few days. I would like to thank him and his team for that," he said.

Pointing out that the trains depart from Ankara and stop at different points, Arslan explained that he arrived in the city late for this reason. Stating that the provinces on the train route also serve tourism and they cannot be ignored, Arslan added that the departure times are planned according to all provinces.
