Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank; On November 3, 2021, he presented the 2022 budget of the Ministry, affiliated and related institutions and organizations at the Planning and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Minister Varank in his presentation; He gave budget information about project supports, critical product studies, domestic automobile and battery production, R&D studies, ramjet project, National Space Program and hybrid rocket engine studies. Stating that industrial production has continued to increase since the second half of 2020, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank;

“The 10 main targets we have determined have been shared with the public by our President. The works to be carried out within the scope of the program were included in the investment program with a budget of 1 Billion 890 Million Liras. We continue to work towards the goals of making a hard landing on the Moon with our own vehicle and sending a Turkish citizen into space with international cooperation. While conducting the tests of the hybrid rocket engine that we will fire in space, we are continuing the evaluation studies for the launch vehicle and port.”

He stated that the projects within the scope of the National Space Program have a budget of 1 billion 890 million liras.

Minister Varank; Expressing that Turkey actively participates in the activities of 5 international organizations in the field of space,

“Our membership to the largest international space organization IAF (International Astronautical Federation) was registered on 25 October. A Turkish scientist was appointed to the post of assistant secretary general in APSCO, the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization, of which we are a founding member, upon the proposal of TUA.”

DeltaV Space Technologies Hybrid Rocket Engine

DeltaV Space Technologies; It is developing a hybrid engine that will carry the spacecraft from earth orbit to the moon in the lunar mission called "First contact with the Moon" in the National Space Program. Minister Varank; In his presentation at the Planning and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the visual of the test of the SORS Sonde Rocket developed by DeltaV on July 17, 2021 was shared.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank; On April 8, 2021, he visited the Rocket Engine Ignition Facility of Delta V, which develops national and original hybrid rocket engines, in Şile, with the accompanying delegation to see the hybrid rocket engine works on site.

Minister Mustafa Varank and the accompanying delegation examined the systems at the test site again at the end of the firings and received information about the results of the test. Stating that there is a targeted time of 50 seconds in the tests, Minister Varank said,

“It successfully finished the entire 50-second firing. The first trials of the engine, which can be used in the lunar mission, were successfully made. Here, too, we want to use all the capabilities in Turkey, the capabilities of all our companies. Delta V is a company that operates hybrid rocket engines, which are considered a new technology in the world. Our teacher Arif (Karabeyoğlu) carries out all these processes.” made statements.
