MG Continued Its Sales Success in September

The legendary British automobile brand MG continued its sales successes in the UK and Europe last September as well. MG has become one of the important brands of electrification transformation in the automobile market with its 100% electric and rechargeable hybrid models in its product range. The brand, which is represented by Doğan Trend Automotive in our country, reached 5.449 sales in September, of which 2.920 units were sold in the UK and 8.369 units across Europe. Having sold 4.723 units in the same period of the previous year, MG increased its sales by 77% within a year, exceeding 8.000 units in a month for the first time. MG; In the first nine months of 2021, it achieved a record growth of almost 37.190% compared to the previous year, with a total sales of 100 units across Europe, including the UK. Operating with a network of over 16 dealers in 300 European countries today, MG aims to increase the number of dealers to 2021 by the end of 400.

Represented in our country by Doğan Trend Automotive, a Doğan Holding company, British MG makes a name for itself with its successes in the countries where it is offered for sale. MG, which started operating again in the European market two years ago, has reached significant sales figures with its electric and hybrid models. The brand sold a total of 5.449 vehicles, with 2.920 vehicles in the UK and 8.369 vehicles across Europe in September last year. MG, which sold 4.723 units in Europe in the same month of last year, increased its sales by 77 percent after a year and exceeded 8.000 units in a month for the first time. Matt Lei, CEO of MG Motor Europe, emphasized that this success has been achieved with only two models (the 100% electric MG ZS EV and the rechargeable hybrid MG EHS PHEV). Expressing his pride in the success achieved, Lei said, “In the first nine months of 2021, we sold a total of 14.258 automobiles, of which 22.932 were in Continental Europe and 37.190 in the UK. Compared to the same period of 2020, we achieved 214% growth in Continental Europe; In total, we achieved an increase of almost 100%. This development is a fantastic result for our brand, which started its sales activities in Continental Europe just two years ago. I am very happy to see that European customers prefer our products and our sales record in September.”

MG ZS EV: “Family Car of the Year”

MG's 2020% electric model MG ZS EV, which has made a name for itself with the sales of 7.155 vehicles in Europe in 100; It was in the top 10 in countries such as the Netherlands, Norway, France, Iceland and Denmark. Having a 100% market share in the 4,85% electric car market in Norway, the model became the 8th best-selling car and the 7th best-selling electric car in total. The MG ZS EV was also named “Family Car of the Year” in Belgium.

The sales network is expanding further

Continuing to accelerate its activities in 2021, MG also entered the markets of Austria, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Italy. In addition to these countries, the brand plans to add Finland and Switzerland markets. The ZS EV, which attracted great attention with its launch in August in Sweden, reached 900 sales in September and managed to enter the top 100 in the 3% electric car segment. Operating in 16 European countries today, MG has commissioned over 2019 MG dealers (sales and service points) since October 300. The brand aims to increase this figure to 400 by the end of the year.

The MG electric model family is also growing

Increasing its sales in every country it operates in, MG continues to expand its electric model product range. The brand has attracted attention with the new Marvel R Electric, which will soon take its place in MG showrooms in Europe and is expected to be offered for sale in our country next year. In the first quarter of 2022, MG will present the world's first all-electric station wagon model, the new MG5 Electric, to European car lovers. Regarding the new models, Matt Lei, CEO of MG Motor Europe; “MG will continue to rapidly expand its electric vehicle range. We plan to put even more electric vehicles on sale in 2022. Our aim is to offer high-quality, high-tech and strikingly designed vehicles to European customers at an affordable price and to gain a strong position in the electric car market.”
