Meaningful 'November 10' Exhibition in Istanbul Metro

İBB is hosting a meaningful exhibition on the 83rd anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic. Special paintings created by artist Halime Türkyılmaz by fixing ground stones are meeting with Istanbulites at the “10 November Atatürk Commemoration Exhibition” at Taksim Metro Station.

Metro Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), is hosting a meaningful exhibition on the 83rd anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic. Tomorrow, the “10 November Atatürk Commemoration Exhibition” will meet with the citizens at Taksim station of Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro. The 18 November Atatürk Commemoration Exhibition, which will feature 10 special paintings, will be open to the visitors of Istanbul between 10-30 November.

Metro Istanbul will commemorate the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the videowall (multi-screen) application special for November 10 at Ünalan and Yenikapı metro stations.

SPECIAL STONES TURNED INTO PICTURE WITH A SPECIAL TECHNIQUE

Artist Halime Türkyılmaz used special stones and a special technique for the paintings to be exhibited. The images were created by fixing ground stones in the 0-0,7 micron range from many quarries in Turkey. Completely unpainted stones were poured with a spatula and by hand, and then fixed with an adhesive applied on top. 18 special paintings made with sand technique; It stands out with its texture, natural colors and weather-resistant feature.

WHO IS HALİME TÜRKYILMAZ

He was born in 1987 in Kırşehir. He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Education, Fine Arts Education Department, Painting Teaching Department, which he started in 2005, in 2009. In 2008, he started painting with the technique he developed with unpainted natural mineral stones. After teaching visual arts in many private schools, he gave trainings at the Kumhane Atelier he opened in Istanbul Moda and opened sand painting exhibitions. The artist, who switched to a new style with her work in Yalçın Gökçebağ workshop in 2019-2020, continues her graduate studies at Yeditepe University and her work in her workshop in Istanbul Nişantaşı.
