The first saplings of Coca-Cola Memorial Forests met with the soil with the planting ceremony held in Bursa with the participation of Coca-Cola Turkey Volunteers and Aegean Forest Foundation officials.
In line with the sustainability approach of Coca-Cola Turkey, a sapling planting ceremony was held in Bursa Mudanya afforestation area for the 50 saplings commemorative forest donated to the Aegean Forest Foundation. The first saplings were brought to the soil by Coca-Cola Turkey Volunteers.
Before the sapling planting event, a donation protocol signing ceremony was held between Coca-Cola Turkey and the Aegean Forest Foundation. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Perihan Öztürk, General Manager of the Aegean Forest Foundation, said, “As Coca-Cola, the contribution of 50 thousand saplings to nature in cooperation with our Foundation is very valuable as part of the work you carry out in line with your sustainable development goals. We wish to create new forests together in a sustainable manner in the coming period. Thank you very much for your contribution.”
Hasan Ellialtı, General Manager of Coca-Cola İçecek Turkey, also said in his speech, “The forest fires we witnessed last summer burned our hearts. As Coca – Cola İçecek, we tried to be with the aid teams with our products and coolers. Today, we are happy to grow the green cover of our country together. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Aegean Forest Foundation for all their efforts for the future of our country and their support within the scope of this project.”
Başak Karaca, General Manager of Coca-Cola Turkey, said, “We are very happy to be a part of such a meaningful and valuable event. As the Coca-Cola family, we would like to express our thanks once again to our dear volunteers who are with us on this important day for a better future and a sustainable natural life.”
Within the scope of the donation made by Coca-Cola Turkey, saplings to be planted in Adana and Elazig regions as well as Bursa will grow and turn into “Coca-Cola Turkey Memorial Forests” where 50 thousand trees take root.
