Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, EGO General Directorate is implementing a new application within the scope of environmental and sustainable transportation projects in Başkent. The "EIT URBAN MOBILITY" project, in which it is planned to establish electric bicycles and charging stations, in order to increase the use of bicycles, scooters and electric bicycles, which are described as micro-mobility vehicles, has come to an end. In the project, which will reduce carbon emissions and the use of motor vehicles, at the first stage, 60 bicycle charging stations will be placed at different points in Ankara, and 25 electric bicycles will be placed for testing.

The Metropolitan Municipality continues to bring together the citizens of the Capital with sustainable environmental transportation projects in Ankara.

EGO General Directorate is implementing the “EIT URBAN MOBILITY” project in order to increase the use of bicycles, scooters and electric bicycles in the category of micro-mobility vehicles, and to reduce motor vehicle and carbon emissions.

Within the scope of the project, 60 bicycle charging stations and 25 electric bicycles for testing will be placed at different points of the city in the first place.

A NEW ERA IS BEGINNING IN TRANSPORTATION

EGO General Directorate, which pressed the button to implement the 'Integrating the Connected Micromobility Infrastructure into Existing Public Transport (MEHUB) Project', which was signed with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) on September 3, 2021 and supported by a 100 percent grant, has come to an end.

While it is planned to optimize the micro-mobility vehicles and roads by obtaining the usage data of micro-mobility vehicles such as bicycles and scooters, to determine the capacity and locations of the charging stations in the capital city, studies are continuing to increase bicycle mobility in the city and to complete new bicycle path routes.

THE COUNTDOWN HAS STARTED TO MEET WITH MICRO MOBILITY VEHICLES

EGO General Directorate carries out the project with a budget of approximately 170 Euros, together with Sabancı University and Duckt Company, which are among the consortium partners.

While the project, which started in April, is aimed to be completed in nine months, with the participation of non-governmental organizations, micro-mobility vehicles will be brought together with the citizens of the Capital in a short time with the project promotion event.

EGO General Directorate, which has been working hard to develop the technological infrastructure within the scope of the main goal of integrating electric mobility vehicles, which is called the last kilometer solution, with the existing public transportation systems, apart from the 25 electric bicycles to be procured, the integration of 400 electric bicycles to be operated within the scope of the 'SMART Ankara Project'. will also do.
