Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (IDMIB) is organizing the "Shoe Design Contest" for the 4th time.
The 4th Shoe Design Competition, which will play a role in determining the future of the shoe and leather industry in Turkey, and which is organized with the aim of increasing talented young designers and bringing new designers to the industry, is waiting for those who will participate in the competition in the categories of Women's and Men's Shoes. Young People with the Power of Design Will Come Together
One of the important features of the competition this year is to bring together young people with free-spirited design power and to encourage designers to design the latest products with a view to revealing the impact of trends in shoe designs. Bringing together young and creative designs, “4. Shoe Design Contest” is waiting for original designs that combine with creative lines until December 15, 2021.
Mustafa Şenocak, President of Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (IDMIB), shared his excitement about the competition. “As the leather and leather products sector, we are one of the sectors that realize the most value-added exports in Turkey. Behind this success, we have our trained workforce, quality production and of course our design ability that closely follows and applies world trends. As IDMIB, we attach great importance to design and designers. In order to bring in new designers to the sector, we organize design competitions in the footwear sector for one year and in the apparel and saddlery sectors for the next year. With the support of our Ministry of Commerce, we have provided postgraduate education support in the field of design abroad to 16 of our friends who have been ranked highly in our competitions. With our “Entrepreneurial Designers Program” that we launched last year, we continued to invest in design and designers. Despite the adverse conditions of the pandemic, we have organized six trend seminars in the digital environment in the last two years, two of which are our target markets Japan and South Korea. We are happy to continue the design competitions that we had to take a break due to the pandemic with our 4th Shoe Design Competition, and I wish the competition to be beneficial for our industry and design world.
Gamze Saraçoğlu, in her statement regarding the competition, said, “We aim to bring creative designers to the sector by supporting their professional development, beyond inspiring young people with innovative and original design power, with the Shoe Design Competition, which was held for the 4th time this year. I think that this competition, which increases the design power of the young finalists participating in the competition, is a valuable educational opportunity in terms of getting to know the sector closely and giving direction to the sector. "said.
The top 3 competitors in the Women's and Men's shoe categories will receive 6 months of foreign language training in the country, 30.000 TL for the first place, 20.000 TL for the second, and 10.000 TL for the third. Within the scope of the Digital Design Award, the designers who have prepared their applications for the competition with a computer program among the 10 finalists will be evaluated separately and a monetary award of 15.000 TL will be given to the person with the best rank in the Women's and Men's Category.
