The reactor pressure vessel produced for the second unit of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NGS) was built by AEM Technologies A.Ş., which is a part of Atomenergomash A.Ş., the machinery building division of Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, Izhorsk Fabrikaları Kamu A.Ş. He was on his way to Turkey from his field.
Experts from the Izhorsk factories started to produce the reactor pressure vessel in March 2019, within the framework of the agreement. During the production process, all tests related to the control gear of the in-body devices and the cover, as well as the hydrotesting of the equipment with the upper block cover, took place. All geometric parameters, the coordination of the elements and the high quality of the product were confirmed by the commission. After all tests, it was disassembled and packaged again for ease of transportation.
The reactor pressure vessel will go to the Akkuyu NPP site by sea. The equipment will cover more than 9 kilometers on its journey from the Port of St. Petersburg to the southern coast of Turkey.
