Orange Teams of Highways are on the alert for uninterrupted transportation in winter

The “orange teams” of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure were on the alert before the winter season. Highways teams affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure have completed all their preparations to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic flow during the winter months, as well as to combat snow and ice.

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was stated that the teams of the General Directorate of Highways carried out their work in 446 snow-fighting centers throughout the country, with 10 thousand 916 machinery-equipment and 12 thousand 645 personnel, within the scope of the winter program. It was pointed out that the orange teams, working to ensure safe and uninterrupted transportation in cities where winter conditions are intense, continue their struggle all over Turkey meticulously, 7/24, day and night.

In the statement, it was emphasized that 540 thousand tons of salt, 340 thousand cubic meters of salt aggregate, 8 thousand tons of chemical de-icing and salt solution for critical sections, and 700 tons of urea are stored in snow-fighting centers to be used in the works.

822 KILOMETERS SNOW GUARD TO THE ROADS

In the statement, it was noted that 822 kilometers of snow trenches were built on the sections where the traffic flow is difficult or closed due to the type and breeze on the roads.

“In the snow-fighting center established within the body of our General Directorate; route analysis, snow-fighting works, opened and closed roads and instant traffic are followed through monitors. There are 22 fixed cameras at important crossings, and we continue to work to increase this number. Weather and road conditions are monitored from the Head Office and Regional Centers through cameras. 750 snow-fighting vehicles deployed in critical areas are monitored with cameras, and 7 thousand 450 snow-fighting vehicles are monitored by the Vehicle Tracking System, and in case of any negativity, they are intervened and coordination is ensured with the relevant people.
