The Last Deck Will Be Placed This Week on the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Marmaray Zübeyde Hanım Park in Istanbul, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “Two days later, we will hold the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge final deck installation ceremony in Çanakkale with our President.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “While we are working hard for our country, we do not value daily polemics. We do not have time for this, nor do we intend to. We focus on service, we focus on finishing our projects. The countdown has begun for another dream to come true. Two days later, we will hold the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge final Deck Installation ceremony in Çanakkale with our President. The 2 Çanakkale Bridge, with a length of 23 thousand 1915 meters, will be 'the world's largest medium span suspension bridge'. Although it takes 30 minutes after the ferry departs, we will reduce the transit time to 6 minutes through the Dardanelles, which can take hours depending on the weather or in the queue. On March 18, 2022, in celebration of the 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory, we will open our 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and the 100-kilometer Malkara Çanakkale highway.”
