Having managed to become one of the few manufacturers in the world that can produce hybrid locomotive generators, Teksan is introducing its hybrid locomotive generator, a first in Turkey, at the Defense, Aerospace and Space Industry Fair SAHA EXPO 2021 for the first time.
The hybrid locomotive, which is a very important step in the efficiency of the railway industry with new technology, has a 300 kW diesel hybrid generator set and a 400 kWh battery power supply. Thanks to the hybrid generator that will charge the battery packs of the environmentally friendly hybrid maneuvering locomotive and will be activated as a backup power in case of need, a high fuel saving of 40 percent will be achieved during the maneuver. In addition, the Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR), which is used to reduce emissions, also supports the environmental feature of the product.
The first domestic hybrid shunting locomotive, designed and produced by Turkish companies, will serve for TCDD Tasimacilik. Thus, Turkey managed to become the 4th country in the world with this technology. It is aimed to increase the domesticity rate of 60% of the hybrid shunting locomotive to 80% when mass production is started. In the future, Teksan also aims to implement studies that will contribute to increasing the locality rate of the project.
Those who want to take a closer look at Teksan Hybrid Locomotive Generator can visit Teksan stand 10L-13 in Hall 2021 of SAHA EXPO 5 Fair, which will be held at Istanbul Expo Center on 5-10 November.
