İBB exhibits the transformation of Taksim square for more than a hundred years with its photographs. Documentary photographs of events that took place in the square and left their mark on Turkish history are also exhibited in the exhibition. Taksim X Heart of Istanbul exhibition, which sheds light on the history of the square, will continue until Sunday, November 21, 2021.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) opened the Taksim X Heart of Istanbul exhibition in Taksim Square, one of the most important squares of Istanbul. Photographs documenting the history and change of the square were exhibited in the exhibition. The photographs presented to the public in the exhibition shed light not only on Taksim Square, but also on Turkey's history. In the exhibition in question, photographs of very important historical events that marked that period, such as the ceremonies held for the Liberation of Istanbul after the War of Independence, are exhibited. At the same time, photographs depicting the transformation process of Taksim Square from the 1900s to the present are also exhibited.
