Mine Tests of Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle Completed

While making a presentation on the Presidency's 2022 budget at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey's Planning and Budget Committee, Vice President Fuat Oktay shared important information about the ongoing projects related to the defense industry.

As explained by Oktay, the qualification tests of the Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle (ZAHA) are continuing. Mine tests of ZAHA, whose self-correction test and verification activities were completed, were also successfully completed. ZAHA's engineering verification activities, which were specially developed to meet the needs of our amphibious marines, have been successfully completed. The qualification tests of ZAHA, whose verification activities have been completed, continue.

ZAHA prepares to enter inventory

In order to meet the amphibious armored vehicle needs of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, the Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle (ZAHA) is being developed within the scope of the project, whose procurement activities are carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB). Engineering development activities were completed in the project, where FNSS will deliver a total of 23 vehicles, 2 of which are personnel carriers, 2 of which are command and control vehicles and 27 of which are rescue vehicles, and the qualification phase has begun. The project, which is planned to complete the qualification tests and deliver the first product in 2021, will be completed in 2022.

Over the past 2 years, many engineering tests and subsystem qualifications have been successfully completed with the prototype vehicle, such as durability, performance at sea, performance on land, self-correction, which are rehearsals of the qualification tests to be carried out with the SSB and the Naval Forces Command. ZAHA, whose qualification tests are continuing, has higher ballistic and mine protection compared to its counterparts and is equipped with today's most advanced mission equipment.

ZAHA outperforms its peers on land and in water

In the ZAHA project, maximum domestic and national resources were used for the supply of subsystems such as communication systems with the interior of the vehicle and other vehicles, and communication systems with the LHD class TCG Anadolu ship. done.

The ÇAKA Remote Controlled Tower (UKK), designed and produced specifically for ZAHA by FNSS within the scope of the project, is among the domestic and national weapon systems. The “ÇAKA Remote Controlled Tower”, named after the great Turkish sailor, Çaka Bey, will be the striking force of ZAHA, which will be under the command of our marines. Being the fastest amphibious vehicle that our Armed Forces will have, ZAHA will have all the features and capabilities of both a military land vehicle and a military sea vehicle, by balancing the land and sea requirements. FNSS broke new ground with the ZAHA, the first and only personnel carrier vehicle in the inventory of our Armed Forces, designed for both sea and land, as well as the first and only domestic amphibious vehicle capable of self-correcting in case of capsizing and operating up to sea state 4. keeps on throwing.
