Marmaray Zübeyde Hanım Park Opened to Service

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the opening ceremony of Marmaray Zübeyde Hanım Park. Karaismailoğlu said, "Every civilization is born and grows on the material and spiritual ground formed by the cities," and that cities are the mirror of a nation's wealth and civilization with their social, cultural and architectural values.

Stating that cities are also bridges connecting the past to the future and ancient civilizations to the present, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“One of our responsibilities is to strengthen these ties and carry them to the future and to build centers that meet all kinds of needs beyond the age. At this point, the activities and services during the AK Party governments and municipalities are in this understanding and direction. It is our priority to develop our cities in harmony with their history, cultural texture and nature. For this reason, we attach special importance to municipal services. Undoubtedly, the way to success in municipality is to be intertwined with the public. Until today, we have worked to serve the people, not the ideology. In this way, no one could come between us and our nation.”

WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED MANY GIANT PROJECTS THAT BRING VOICE IN THE WORLD

Explaining that they have implemented many giant projects in 7 hills Istanbul in order to make Istanbul one of the leading cities of the world, Karaismailoğlu noted that the projects of the century, Marmaray and Eurasia Tunnel, passed under the Bosphorus. Expressing that they put the third necklace on the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the Bosphorus, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“With Istanbul Airport, we have made Istanbul a global aviation center. We put the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed ​​​​Train line into service. By constructing the Istanbul-Izmir Highway, including the Osmangazi Bridge, we made these two cities almost next-door neighbors. In Camlica, we removed 33 iron piles that were scattered and harmful to human health and the environment. We have made an important contribution to the silhouette of Istanbul with the Camlica Tower, a marvel of Turkish engineering. For the first time in the world, we brought a new landmark to Istanbul, where 100 radios broadcast on the same tower. Marmaray, HalkalıIt has become one of the main lines of Istanbul's urban transportation by completing 80 stations in 43 minutes on an 108-kilometer track between Gebze. Marmaray is now the address of fast, comfortable, uninterrupted transportation that is not affected by weather conditions for Istanbul residents. Marmaray has become the backbone of Istanbul. On 5 November, the number of passengers using Marmaray broke a record. 567 thousand 169 passengers in one day and 6 million 1 thousand passengers in two days with 115 November were transported to their jobs and loved ones by Marmaray. In the 8 years it has been in service, the number of passengers it has carried has reached 607 million. When it comes to service, we are not satisfied. We plan and do better, more comfortable, faster.”

WORK CONTINUES ON 7 SEPARATE LINES

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport, said, “We continue to work on 80 separate lines with a length of 103,3 kilometers for the development of Istanbul city rail public transportation infrastructure, following the Marmaray suburban line and Levent-Hisarüstü Metro serving on the 7 km long track. Turkey's fastest metro, Beşiktaş (Gayrettepe)-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro, which we successfully conducted the first test drive 3 days ago, is our Marmaray line. Halkalıfrom Küçükçekmece-Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-İstanbul Airport Metro, Pendik Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, Bakırköy (IDO)-Bahcelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro, Başakşehir-Pine and Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro, Altunizade-Ferah Mahallesi- It is an Urban Transportation and Recreation project that will start from Çamlıca Metro and Zeytinburnu Kazlıçeşme and pass through Yedikule, Samatya, Yenikapı, Çataltı Kapı and reach Sirkeci, in which there will be walking paths, bicycle paths and social areas besides the rail system public transportation line. Hopefully, we will complete all of these projects in 2023. At the beginning of 2022, we will start to put these projects into service," he said.
