After the wreath ceremony; A minute's silence was held for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms and all martyrs. The ceremony ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

After the official ceremony in Taksim, Yerlikaya, Yeni and İmamoğlu attended the Atatürk Commemoration Program organized by the Governorship of Istanbul at the Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall in Şişli. Yerlikaya, Yeni and İmamoğlu, who went to Dolmabahçe Palace from the CRR, visited Dolmabahçe Palace where Ata passed away on November 10, 1938. Leaving flowers on the bed where Atatürk took his last breath, the trio made a short tour in Dolmabahçe Palace. İmamoğlu expressed his feelings at these moments in a live broadcast broadcast on his social media account, “The best thing that has ever happened to this country is Atatürk. Its light never goes out; very strong. I wish God's mercy, I am grateful. I hope we will be worthy.” İmamoğlu participated in the “10 November Ata Commemoration Parade” held in Florya Atatürk City Forest, which is the last stop after Dolmabahçe Palace and was put into service in its renovated state.

GATHERED WITH CITIZENS IN FLORYA

Meeting with CHP PM member Eren Erdem, Bakırköy Mayor Bülent Kerimoğlu and Kemal Çebi, İmamoğlu made a speech to the citizens who would accompany the march. Stating that the Florya Atatürk Forest was one of the areas that Atatürk gave the most importance, İmamoğlu said, “We have prepared this area, which has been left to itself for years, as an infrastructure where people only walk, jog and rest. It had many shortcomings, we completed it. We wanted to start the day when this ends, especially on November 10, on this beautiful day when we commemorate our Ata, with a traditional march.” Your area; İmamoğlu, who wanted it to be owned by İBB, Bakırköy Municipality and citizens, said, "I hope this place will continue to live with an order and system entrusted to Istanbulites, especially our Bakırköy people."

“IPA GOOD LUCK TO THIS REGION”

Reminding that they have transformed the approximately 80 thousand square meter area within Florya Atatürk Forest and previously used as the IMM Presidential Residence, to the Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), İmamoğlu said, “For the future of Istanbul, the vision for the future, from the 'Vision 2050 office' to the statistics office, 'The Institute has turned into an enormous area with its library that has units from Istanbul to many institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, youth, youth workshops, and also can establish online dialogue with the world's top libraries. Good luck to this region in IPA. The fact that this large and large area has become a better place for better use and at the same time a resourceful place in Istanbul with its other functions will meet the expectations of our Republic from us, protect nature, improve and regulate people's quality of life, and also look forward to the future in the light of reason and science. Noting that he will go to Glasgow to attend the Climate Summit after the march, İmamoğlu said:

“The most important issue in the world, the most important issue of countries and the most important issue of cities; combating climate change, combating global warming. At this point, all countries in the world are now dedicating a large part of their countries to this area, and common struggle platforms are being created to make the world a livable world. Istanbul has to be one of the most locomotive cities of this journey of the world. Because Istanbul is one of the most beautiful, most valuable and most important cities in the world. Then we are all responsible. In order to protect the world, to protect our country, to protect our city, to protect and beautify nature, life, living things and, of course, human life, we need to be in a struggle together as a nation with a common mind. We must stand as a nation against anything, any understanding, any business, any so-called project that will destroy nature, our city, our life, our country, or threaten us, or threaten our life.”

THE FIRST URBAN FOREST OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY

After the speech, İmamoğlu and the accompanying delegation held a commemoration march in the renewed Florya Atatürk Forest. In the first years of the Republic, Atatürk Forest Farm in Ankara and Florya Atatürk Forest in Istanbul stood out as one of the largest green areas in the country. Afforestation of Florya Atatürk Forest started in 1936. In Florya, pine trees were planted on the site of the former name of Ayestafanos Cemetery, and the area was named “Atatürk Grove”. French Architect and Urban Planner Henri Prost prepared the first step for the establishment of Florya Atatürk Forest. Taking charge with the instruction of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Prost created a green city plan from Yenikapı to Florya. İBB started renovation works on a total area of ​​542 thousand 721 square meters, which was neglected during the process.

RENOVATED FROM HEIGHT TO TOE

Within the scope of the renovation works, the following productions were carried out:

“By replacing the existing impermeable asphalt and concrete roads of the grove, natural bicycle and walking paths were built in order to maintain an ecological balance. An 8 thousand square meter bicycle path was implemented. The production of 17 thousand 120 square meters of earthen walking path has been completed. Entrance doors were renewed and security measures were increased. 101 benches and 65 country tables have been appropriately added to the texture of the forest. 7 thousand square meters of automatic irrigation installation was made. The drainage line was increased by 287,15 meters. Free IMM Wifi service was activated. The non-existent lighting was re-arranged to close to human height, taking into account the wildlife. In 2021, a thousand trees were added to the forest. A thousand more trees are planned to be added as a target for 2022. 6 thousand square meters of grass was laid on the area where 7 thousand seasonal flowers were planted. The drip irrigation system has been completed. Alana; 4 of them made of logs and one of marble fountains was added. The tower architecture children's playground and education area have been completed as the first phase project. Olive pits were used on the ground. The mosque was placed in the central place. In addition to 2 toilets, one more toilet was placed in the forest.
