ŞTİ donated "Automatic Shock Device" to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. The device, which will be available at the Kızılay Metro Station in the first place, will be used in all stations after the test process is completed. Metropolitan staff, who received first aid training, will give first aid to citizens who have had a heart attack.

From now on, the Metropolitan Municipality will provide first aid support to the citizens who have had a heart attack at the Ankara Metro Station, which is heavily used and traveled by the citizens, until the ambulance arrives. Polaris Medikal Limited Company, Turkey Representative of Hearstsiner Company, donated an "Automatic Shock Device" to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for first response.
DEVICE USAGE TRAINING IS PROVIDED TO PERSONNEL
In the first place, the Metropolitan Municipality personnel started to receive device usage training at periodic intervals on the use of the device to be kept at the Kızılay Metro Station.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to save the life of a patient with a stopped heart by providing first aid, plans to expand this application at all stations after the test process of the device is completed and the evaluation reports are released.
IT IS TARGET TO USE THE SHOCKER IN ALL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES
Zafer Tekbudak, Deputy General Manager of Metropolitan Municipality EGO, stated that the automatic shock device saves time until the ambulance arrives and examines the trainings for the personnel on site.
“The shock device will be kept at the Kızılay Metro Station, which is affiliated to the Department of Transportation Planning and Rail Systems. Heart attack is the most common disease in the world, which kills, cripples, and causes labor and financial losses. Hundreds of people die from a heart attack every 3 minutes. It is an issue that needs to be considered for public transportation vehicles. It is impossible to predict a heart attack in advance. 85% of deaths from heart attacks occur at home, on the road or outdoors. It has been scientifically determined that mortality rates decrease in interventions made with the automatic shock device, which is available with advanced technology. If we see the benefit of the device, we aim to provide the necessary first aid support to the citizens who use public transportation by enabling it to be used at all stations.”
Polaris Medical LTD. Stating that they want to increase life saving by donating the shock device to the Metropolitan Municipality, Nadiye Balcı, General Manager of ŞTİ, said, “The device brings the person whose heart stopped back to life. We said why not in us, why not in our municipality, and we donated a heart massage device to the Metropolitan Municipality in order to intervene in those who had a heart attack in the subway. This device is mandatory for international flights. This device is found in many places where people are crowded. I hope that there will be no situations where this device should be used, but if it does, it has a technology that will bring most of the patients to life.”
