The Ministry of Labor and Social Security made the fifth payment of the grant support to 80 underground mining enterprises, which are beneficiaries of the Financial Support and Guidance Program, within the scope of the Project for the Improvement of Occupational Health and Safety in the Mining Sector (MISGEP).

Within the scope of the program financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry made a grant payment of 937 thousand Turkish Liras in return for the occupational health and safety services received by underground mining enterprises. Thus, as of October, 4,3 million Turkish Lira grant support was provided to underground mining enterprises that receive occupational health and safety services.

The Financial Support and Guidance Program, which will last for 24 months, includes grant support for the assignment of OHS professionals in underground mining workplaces, as well as grant support for search and rescue trainings and occupational health and safety management system integration. In the program, which left its first quarter behind, technical guidance studies specific to underground coal and metal mines will continue with new and preventive approaches by making field visits in the program, which aims to improve the institutional capacity of enterprises in the field of occupational health and safety with the guidance support provided as well as financial support.
