Coins Prepared for Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games Go on Sale

The People's Bank of China will launch commemorative coins for the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games this week. In the statement made by the People's Bank of China, there are gold and silver coins among the coins that can be used as legal payment instruments. The obverse of both coins will feature the official emblem of the Paralympic winter games, as well as the Great Wall of China and snowflakes adorning it.

The refined gold coin, which is 20 millimeters in diameter and contains 5 grams of 99,9 percent pure gold, will cost 80 yuan (about $12,5). On the reverse side of the coin will be the image of the mascot of the upcoming games. The silver coin, which has a unique rectangular shape and contains 15 grams of 99,9 percent fine silver, was also priced at 5 yuan. In the statement, it was noted that the symbols of the six sports in the Paralympic winter games and the phrase "Beijing 2022" written in Braille on the silver coin.
