Emphasizing that as IMM, they are determined to provide equal service to the 39 districts of the city, İmamoğlu said, “Our friends who are currently in positions are trustees and representatives. Regardless of rank, no service has political party ownership. I am honored and proud to be a member of the Republican People's Party. But let it be known that; The owner of our service, the budget we put forward, the projects we put forward is not the Republican People's Party; it is the people, it is the nation. It really makes politics more institutional and credible. It also makes politicians more credible,” he said.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, opened Bagcilar Square, which they rearranged and made one of the largest areas in Istanbul, into service. Speaking at the ceremony held for the opening, İmamoğlu commemorated those who contributed to the arrangement of Bağcılar Square. “From the beginning to the present; Mayor of Bağcılar, the late Mr. Kadir Topbaş, I would like to thank everyone who contributed," said İmamoğlu, "The main thing is; the sustainability, continuity and permanence of the service, the pleasure of doing a good job. Being able to share it, feel it, produce it together, appreciate the truth all together, applaud the truth together, be together.” Emphasizing that squares are the symbol of people being together, İmamoğlu said, "If you have not been able to build a square in a city, if you have not been able to mature parks and green areas, you will be able to bring peace, tranquility, being together, behaving with tolerance towards each other, through the element of being human while looking at each other. You cannot make them love each other.”

“BAGCILAR WILL BE A TRANSPORTATION CENTER”

Noting that he is happy to bring such a square to Bağcılar in this sense, İmamoğlu shared detailed information about the organized area. Stating that Bağcılar has become a very strong district in terms of access with the services provided by both the district municipality and the İBB, İmamoğlu said, “Especially the Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy line that we have put into service and I hope it will be Beşiktaş- Kabataş With this line, which we put into service at the direct access point to the center of Istanbul, with the completion of the section, Bağcılar has achieved a very extraordinary service. We will also make up for the shortcomings. I would also like to point out the trouble in the tunnel, which we do not want very much, especially due to a troublesome production in the past. When it is completed in approximately 1-1,5 months, we will bring the service that will bring the journey of this metro, which now ends in Okmeydanı, to Mecidiyeköy again, to our citizens. Pointing out that the Mahmutbey-Esenyurt line, for which they laid the foundation, also started in Bağcılar, İmamoğlu gave the good news that the district will become a transportation hub in the future.

“NO SERVICE HAS POLITICAL PARTY OWNERSHIP”

Emphasizing that as IMM, they are determined to provide equal service to 39 districts of the city, İmamoğlu said:

Saying, "It is imperative that this is perceived and understood in the same way throughout our country," İmamoğlu said, "I would like to underline one thing: Our friends who are currently in positions are trustees and representatives. Regardless of rank, no service has political party ownership. Each of us fulfills the duty of delivering and presenting the authority given to us by the society, the money that our nation provides to us, the money from its resources, to the citizens in the healthiest and most accurate way. If this understanding prevails throughout our country and in our cities, the peace of our country will be different. In the presence of all of you, I say; For example, I am honored and proud to be a member of the Republican People's Party. But let it be known that; The owner of our service, the budget we put forward, the projects we put forward is not the Republican People's Party. It is the people, it is the nation. It really makes politics more institutional and politics more credible. It also makes politicians more credible.”

“OUR GREATEST RESPONSIBILITY IS THE FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING”

Stating that the common agenda of the world is environmental problems arising from the climate crisis, İmamoğlu said:

“I would like to remind you that the main center of global warming and the fight against climate change is cities. Because in Turkey, more than 80 percent of our people live in cities. Then what will we do in these cities? We will use water sparingly. We will not pollute the environment. We will support the process of waste separation with an ethic starting from our home. What will we do? We will strengthen and enlarge urban areas, especially green areas. At the same time, we will protect, develop and enlarge the areas, valleys and catchments that make up Istanbul's water resources. This is essential for human existence. Do you know what our biggest responsibility is? It is to prepare the world, the cities we live in, the environment for the future. It is to prepare by preserving, it is to prepare by developing. In that respect, our biggest responsibility in this period is to be individuals and people who can look at the climate change process through struggle against global warming. This issue; It is not the business of a state, a government, a municipality or an institution. It is possible with the awareness of the total citizens. I make a call to everyone from this beautiful square where we breathe: Make sure to be individuals who protect the environment, protect the greenery, and especially contribute to the waste system in our city, in your home, around you, at every moment of your life, from the youngest to the most adult people.”
