Talatpaşa Boulevard Elevated Pedestrian Crossing Project

Within the scope of the project, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality built a 34-meter-long pedestrian platform, similar to the examples in Europe, for pedestrians to pass on the Cyprus Martyrs Street section of Alsancak Talatpaşa Boulevard, one of the areas with the highest pedestrian traffic in the city. Figurative patterns from the historical roots of Izmir were worked on the elevated pedestrian crossing. Considering the access of disabled and elderly citizens, the roads and pavements were brought to the same level. Thus, while the area gained the appearance of a mini square, it was also possible for pedestrians to cross the street without going up and down the sidewalks.

Peynircioğlu Stream Ecological Corridor Project

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has created an uninterrupted ecological corridor on the coastal part of the Cheesecioğlu Stream in Mavişehir, the Halk Park and the route after it, as part of the fight against the global climate crisis. Within the scope of the project, which is an application of the “Urban Green Up-Nature Based Solutions” project, which received a grant of 2020 million euros within the scope of the “HORIZON 2,3” program of the European Union, both flood control was provided in the stream and a new green area was provided around the stream with nature-friendly practices without using an impermeable surface. created.
