38th Anniversary of the Founding of the TRNC to be Celebrated with an Art Fest

The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will celebrate the 17th anniversary of the foundation of the TRNC with an art festival, with 5 exhibitions to be opened on November 38. Among the exhibitions to be opened by President Ersin Tatar at the Exhibition Hall of the Near East University Faculty of Communication, there will be 3 solo and 2 group exhibitions.

As part of the celebrations of the 38th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will open five exhibitions, three of which are personal, consisting of oil paints, prints, ballpoint pens on silk, sculptures and ship models. The exhibitions, which will be opened by President Ersin Tatar on Wednesday, November 17 at 9.30 am, will be open to visitors free of charge at the Near East University Communication Faculty Exhibition Hall until the end of the month.

With the opening, the “Fine Arts Republic Exhibition” by the artist academicians of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Near East University, the “Ship Models Exhibition” by İsmail Gündoğan, the sculpture artists Altai Useinov, Andrey Orazbaev, Bagdat Sarsenbiyev, İsken Abdaliev, Kutman Arasulov, Orazbek Yessenbayev, Sembigali Smagulov and Sohan Tolesh's "Mixed Sculpture Exhibition", Kazakh Artist Orazbek Yessenbayev's personal painting exhibition "Our World" and Kazakh Artist Rakhat Saparaliyeva's personal painting "Memory" will meet with art lovers.

38 exhibitions together in honor of the 5th anniversary of the Republic

One of the solo exhibitions to be opened consists of ship models created by artist İsmail Gündoğan by shaping metal with a magnificent handwork. There are many ships in the collection, from the landing ship that took part in the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation to the Nusret Mine ship that changed the course of the Dardanelles war in 1915.

Rakhat Saparalieva's personal painting exhibition titled “Memory”, which depicts the Arpalık, Ayvasıl, Muratağa-Sandallar massacres and the Erenköy resistance, which left deep traces in the memory of the Turkish Cypriot community, is among the important exhibitions of the event.

Kazakh artist Orazbek Yesenbayev's exhibition titled “Our World” will feature 30 works he made with ballpoint pen on silk. Among the most remarkable works of the collection are “Panic” and “Gorgon Medusa”.

The “Fine Arts Republic Exhibition”, which consists of works specially prepared for the Republic Day Celebrations by the artist academicians of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Near East University, is one of the rich group exhibitions. Associate Professor. Gökhan Okur's leader of the Turkish Cypriot community, Dr. Fazıl Küçük and the Founding President of the TRNC Rauf Denktaş, his work titled “Cumhuriyet” is one of the remarkable works of the collection.

The Mixed Sculpture Exhibition, which will bring together the works of artists from the Turkic Republics, also features remarkable sculptures. One of them is Sembigali Smagulov's work “World Tree”. In his work, the artist refers to the "Tree of Life", which has a place in many cultures, especially Turkish communities. Andrey Orazbaev's sculptures “Continuous Movement” and “Inspiration” are among the works worth seeing in the group sculpture exhibition. In "Continuous Movement", the rotating curved branches are depicted as symbols of dynamism, enthusiasm and life. The branches in the statue symbolize the three points of departure of the sun: sunrise, zenith and sunset. The sculpture named 'Inspiration' symbolizes the flight of human thought and imagination.

Exhibition curator Assoc.
