Athletes to be Served with 2022 Types of Meals at Beijing 678 Winter Olympic Games

Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games organizers announced that they prepared a menu of 678 dishes for athletes throughout the games. These meals will be served to athletes from different cultural backgrounds throughout the games.

The organizers informed that the menu, which was approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), was designed to meet the various nutritional needs of the athletes, also taking into account their religious diversity. These 678 dishes will be served in turn, and around 200 dishes will be available each day at the three competition venues in Beijing, Yanqing (suburb of Beijing) and Zhangjiakou.

As the Olympic games coincide with the Spring Festival in China, food from different parts of China will allow athletes to fully experience Chinese cuisine.

The food service to be provided during the Games will strictly adhere to the Beijing 2022 Playbook, which is a guide to the rules and precautions to be taken to ensure that the Olympics take place in a healthy and safe environment. Masks, gloves and disinfectants will be provided in the dining areas. Smart disinfection devices, temperature measurement tests and guiding robots will also be used to facilitate Kovid-19 prevention and control measures. In addition, in order to organize a green Olympic Games, soil-soluble tableware will be used in dining areas. Among other features that increase accessibility, there will be menus prepared in braille alphabet for the visually impaired and barrier-free access opportunities.
