The one-year countdown has begun in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held. Qatar Tourism showcases 10 new hotels and tourist attractions that will open before the start of the tournament.
Qatar Tourism had previously promoted more than 100 hotels and apartments in the country. More than one million sports fans will be hosted by Qatar within the scope of the tournament, and 12 more will be added to these touristic centers in 40 months during the preparation stage.
Qatar is preparing to activate all existing accommodation services in order to meet the demand. For 2022, fans are presented with a wide variety of creative options, from camping in the desert to watching Doha's skyline from the temporarily anchored cruise ship. Qatar will provide accommodation for up to 28 rooms for the more than one million football fans expected to stay during the 130.000-day tournament.

New developments and new venues have been added in the last two years. Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, one of the leading destinations selected as the “Best Wellness Retreat Center of the Year 2020” by the British World Spa Awards, opened its doors to visitors this month after an exciting wait.
Zulal is the largest wellness destination in the Middle East. Spreading over an area of 280 thousand square meters in total, the facility consists of two parts: Zulal Serenity is designed for adults, while Zulal Discovery is designed for families.
Another exciting new development in Qatar was the opening of Banyan Tree Doha. This five-star resort was gracefully designed by renowned interior designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel also has an authentic Italian restaurant, Il Galante, inspired by the 18th century cookbook Il Cuoco Galante.
