The one-year countdown has begun in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held. Qatar Tourism showcases 10 new hotels and tourist attractions that will open before the start of the tournament.
Qatar Tourism had previously promoted more than 100 hotels and apartments in the country. More than one million sports fans will be hosted by Qatar within the scope of the tournament, and 12 more will be added to these touristic centers in 40 months during the preparation stage.
Qatar is preparing to activate all existing accommodation services in order to meet the demand. For 2022, fans are presented with a wide variety of creative options, from camping in the desert to watching Doha's skyline from the temporarily anchored cruise ship. Qatar will provide accommodation for up to 28 rooms for the more than one million football fans expected to stay during the 130.000-day tournament.
Berthold Trenkel, Operations Director of Qatar Tourism, said: “Soccer fans have a variety of extraordinary accommodation options. We want our visitors to taste the hospitality of Qatar and the Middle East and have an unforgettable experience that they will look forward to returning to Qatar. We recommend sports lovers to explore Qatar's touristic options as well as watch football. From the country's local cuisine to its museums, from walking in the dunes to unwinding at spas and beaches; There is something for everyone here.”
