When viewed from the front, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class stands out with its chrome decorations, a uniquely designed long engine hood and characteristic front grille. The chrome-plated radiator grille with vertical pillars of the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class contributes to the fact that the car is immediately noticeable when viewed from afar. The name MAYBACH is elegantly embedded in the chrome frame of the grille. The rear doors are larger than on other S-Class models; There is also a fixed triangular window in the C-pillar. Again, the Maybach brand logo on the C-pillar emphasizes the privileged world. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can also be equipped with electric rear doors.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class gains an even more special look with its dual color application. Among the optional equipment, there is a very special line separating the two colors and this line is applied by hand according to the highest quality standards. Another equipment offered is DIGITAL LIGHT headlight technology. DIGITAL LIGHT has an extremely bright three-LED light module that refracts and directs the light with the help of 1,3 million micro mirrors in each headlight.

Interior: More living space and superior comfort

The interior of the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is based on the completely renewed interior design of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The instrument cluster, center console and armrest offer a “floating” appearance.

In the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, which can offer up to five screens, a 12,8-inch OLED central media screen, which acts as a high-tech command center, is offered as standard equipment. Another privilege is the 12,3-inch 3D digital display screen, which animates the visuals of other traffic stakeholders in three dimensions and draws attention with its distinctive depth and shadow effect.

The instrument display appearance, presented in the personalized display mode, emphasizes the special position and status of the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. In accordance with the spirit of the brand, the perimeter of the dial indicators is also applied as "Rose Gold".

The “Rose Gold” color can also be used in the “Active Ambient Lighting”, that is, the animated LED lighting of the smart comfort and safety functions. Two new Active Ambient Lights are introduced, namely Rose Gold White and Amethyst Sparkle. The “Welcome to Car” welcome screen greets passengers with a special light show. While the Adaptive Backlighting feature was introduced for the first time in the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, this feature adapts to the wishes of the passengers with different usage settings. Apart from brightness, passengers can adjust the size and position of the light cluster. In addition, different lighting possibilities from work lighting to comfortable living room lighting are another feature of the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also offers plenty of traditional luxury in its interior. While the wide coverings on the front seats come into play as a brand new feature; quality wood surfaces also adorn the backs of the driver and front passenger seats. In the First-Class rear seat equipment, a similar coating is applied between the two rear seats.

The entire wheelbase, which is 18 cm longer than the long version of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, is available for use in the rear seat living area.

Comfort seats on the left and right and the Driver Package offered with the Maybach are some of the features that prove the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class to be an ideal vehicle. In comfortable seats, the passenger can adjust the seat cushion and backrest independently of each other. The most suitable sleeping surface is created by using the footrest in the front seat and the electric extendable leg support. For maximum comfort, the adjustment range of the foot has been extended by approximately 50 mm compared to the previous series. In addition, the "Rear Seat Comfort Package" includes a massage feature for calf support, while neck and shoulder heating in the rear seat stands out as another comfort element.

MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system: More personal and intuitive operation

The new S-Class features the adaptive second generation MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), introduced in 2018. MBUX distinguishes itself by being networked with various vehicle systems and sensor data. Five bright screens, some with OLED technology, make it easy to control the vehicle's comfort functions. With the new generation, personalization and intuitive use options become much more extensive.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can be equipped with MBUX Interior Assistant at the rear. MBUX Interior Assistant can also detect a large number of user requests. While doing this, the system helps in automatic vehicle functions by interpreting the user's gaze direction, hand movements and body language. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can also record the gestures and movements of the rear passengers with the help of 3D laser cameras in the headliner. For example, MBUX Interior Assistant activates the automatic seat belt extension function on the relevant side as soon as it detects the user's hand gesture to reach for the seat belt. In addition to all these, the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, which improves the function of the exit warning system, can also recognize that the rear passenger wants to leave the vehicle and warns the user visually and audibly when it detects a dangerous situation that it deems necessary.

Enhanced power transmission for an efficient drive

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class uses engines from the Mercedes-Benz portfolio, partially electrically assisted. A second generation integrated starter generator (ISG) provides electrical support. ISG provides up to 15 kW of power support to the internal combustion engine while driving, supports the "glide" function in constant speed driving, makes the start-stop feature more comfortable and also makes the driving system more efficient in general. All-wheel drive is standard on all versions.

In the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission has been further developed for integration with the ISG. The electric motor, power electronics and transmission cooler have been moved into or on the transmission. The two-piece belt drive with the ISG was discontinued as an electric refrigerant compressor was used. In this way, even when the engine is not running (start-stop and glide function), the interior can be air-conditioned efficiently and comfortably.

Depending on the engine version, an exhaust system with a gasoline particulate filter is activated to clean the exhaust gases. In addition to pressure and temperature sensors, the use of the most up-to-date sensors ensures an advanced exhaust gas cleaning in all rev ranges.

The undercarriage offers superior comfort and superior driving characteristics.

The continuously adjustable damping system ADS+ and AIRMATIC air suspension are standard on all versions. The driver can change the characteristics of the engine-transmission, ESP®, suspension and steering separately via DYNAMIC SELECT. Related settings are provided via the control button under the central media screen. DYNAMIC SELECT also offers a MAYBACH driving program focused entirely on driving comfort.

The rear axle steering offered increases maneuverability especially in the city. With the rear axle steering feature, the turning circle is reduced by up to two meters.

The offered active E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension scans the road surface with the help of a stereo camera and corrects the undulations on the road surface. The system also provides additional protection by raising the vehicle in the event of a possible side impact. As the impact is directed to the resistant structural elements, especially at the bottom of the vehicle, the stress on the occupants is reduced.

Extremely quiet and vibration-free driving comfort

The new luxury sedan is based on the excellent noise, vibrations, roughness characteristics also used in the New S-Class. These further developed measures specifically target the rear seats. Additional insulation foam is used inside the rear fenders, while thicker laminated glass is used in the additional fixed triangular window on the C-pillar located at the head level of the rear passengers. Apart from that, tires backed with special noise-canceling foam are also offered.

Active driving noise canceling is introduced for the first time in the brand. The system produces counter sound waves, reducing unwanted, low-frequency noises indoors. The bass speakers of the Burmester® High Performance 4D Surround sound system are used for this.

Safety: More protection before and during an accident

Especially in the New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, rear seat safety is handled as a more sensitive issue. The innovative rear airbag, offered as standard equipment, significantly reduces the stress levels in the head and neck area of seat-belted rear seat passengers in severe frontal collisions. With the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, rear seat passengers of a sedan also benefit from automatic seat belt extension for the first time. While this feature encourages the passenger to fasten their seat belt, it also simplifies this process. As the automatic belt extension feature is integrated into the adjustable backrest of the seat, it is always in the right position for the passenger.

The new and expanded driving support systems, on the other hand, make daily life easier with supports suitable for driving conditions such as speed adaptation, distance adjustment, steering steering and lane change. Thus, the driver can reach his destination more safely and comfortably with less fatigue. Driving support systems can react in accordance with the current driving condition in case of a possible danger, thus reducing the severity of a possible collision or preventing it completely.
