Van Eastern Anatolia International Tourism and Travel Fair opened its doors to its visitors for the 11th time. The stand of the Metropolitan Municipality at the fair was met with great interest by the visitors.

The opening ceremony of the fair, where the stands of companies from Iran, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Georgia as well as Turkey, were held at the Van Expo Convention and Fair Center. Speaking at the opening, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz stated that Turkey came out with less shrinkage in the field of tourism compared to competing countries during the pandemic period and said, “In addition to our strong health infrastructure, Turkey, with the Safe Tourism Certification Program we have started and the dynamic international promotion activities we have carried out, are the tourism sector's visitors. It has survived this difficult period with less shrinkage compared to the world average and rival countries in terms of number. Governor Mehmet Emin Bilmez stated that companies from Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq and different provinces of Turkey participated in the fair.

Noting that Van would be one of the provinces with the most fairs in Turkey in the absence of a pandemic, Governor Bilmez said, “As the governorship and municipality, we no longer allow fairs for local products and other needs in such tents in the city center. That's why we all need to own this fair center and use it very functionally. We are one of the best in terms of number of cases.
