Referring to the current state of the highway in our country, Uraloğlu; He said that under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways, there is a total road network of 3.532 km, 30.970 km of which is highway, 34.086 km of state roads and 68.588 km of provincial roads, and 28.407 km of this road network is covered with hot bituminous mixture (BSK). Explaining that the divided road network, which has a total length of 28 kilometers, serves 400% of the traffic, the General Manager said that the current state of the highways within the scope of the necessity of increasing the highway network, the projects in the 78 and 2023 targets program; He noted the works that need to be continued to minimize traffic congestion, greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution, and the targets to be achieved, as well as the determinations to minimize the loss of life and property in the road network and to increase the level of traffic safety.
In his speech, Uraloğlu said that the 2 km long Northern Marmara Motorway (excluding the 409 km long Nakkaş- Başakşehir section), which is one of the mega projects within the scope of the Motorway Ring, which is 443 km in total, with the connected highways surrounding the Marmara Sea, and the 45 km long Istanbul İzmir Highway, including the Osmangazi Bridge. The 426 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway (Malkara – Çanakkale Section 96 Km) and Aydın, which is 330 km long, will benefit from the benefits provided by the completion and putting into operation of the 1915 km long Menemen Aliağa Motorway and the 101 km long Ankara Niğde Motorway. At the end of his presentation, he presented the problems in the sector under 11 headings and explained the results that a total of 236 problems and reasons were identified and 273 solution steps should be taken for the current problems and their causes, solution suggestions and steps to be taken.
Talking about the necessity of eliminating the bottlenecks in the current situation and reaching the desired level in determining future projections, our General Manager added that besides being an economic activity in itself, road infrastructure investments are in a position that has a very close relationship with and directly affects all other sectors.
