Mersin Metropolitan Municipality provided accommodation support to cyclists passing through Mersin during the campaign ride on the Antalya-Göbeklitepe route within the scope of the international Bikes For Kids project. The Metropolitan Municipality, which hosted the members of the Bicyclists Association in Mersin, which is the supporter of the project, which provides boots and coats for disadvantaged children, will continue to support the project.

Ahmet Tarakçı, Head of the Youth and Sports Services Department of the Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they are happy to support the project, which starts from Antalya and includes Mersin on its route, and said, “They are involved in a beautiful project such as gifting boots and coats to the youth and children living in the villages. As Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, we are happy to contribute to the social responsibility project. We also decided to act together on the project. We will continue to do this in order to do better things both in terms of bikes and projects.”

Bicyclists Association President Murat Suyabatmaz shared the details of the Bikes For Kids project and talked about the previous Black Sea and Aegean tours. Stating that they are pedaling to deliver boots and coats to children living in remote villages in Turkey, Suyabatmaz said that the new route is Antalya-Göbeklitepe. Suyabatmaz said, “We will pedal for 14 days in total. It is a challenging track of approximately 1200 km. We are going to distribute aid, to collect aid. It is such a meaningful project,” he said. Thanking the Metropolitan Municipality for their support, Suyabatmaz said, “You really made us very happy. Mersin was given a worthy host. We would like to thank our Mayor of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Vahap Seçer for their support to our project”.
