Taikonauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu aboard the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft entered the core module of the space station.
Launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 19.03 yesterday, Shenzhou-13 docked with the space station's core module Tianhe at 01.56:XNUMX.
Thus, Shenzhou-13 formed a complex with the Tianhe core module and the cargo ships Tianzhou-2 and Tianzhou-3. Later, taikonauts on the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft entered the Tianhe core module.
The Shenzhou-13 crew consists of three experienced taikonauts, one of which is a woman.
Zhai Zhigang, chief of flight missions, conducted China's first spacewalk in 2008 on the Shenzhou-7 mission. Wang Yaping, who joined the Shenzhou-2013 mission in 10, will be the first female taikonaut to visit China's space station and conduct extravehicular activities. Ye Guangfu will travel to space for the first time.
The taikonauts will stay on the space station for 6 months. This will be the longest time spent in space by Chinese taikonauts.
The Taykonauts will reside in the core module, operating and living on the same timetable as Earth.
The taikonauts will perform activities outside the spacecraft and perform some tests. At the end of the mission, they will use the return capsule to return to the Dongfeng landing site in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China.
