Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said that electric buses, which are known for their environmental friendliness as well as their financial savings, will be commissioned next year. Domestic and national production electric buses, which will start to serve in Samsun, the city of its future for the first time in Turkey, will also be used at TEKNOFEST.

The Metropolitan Municipality, which will launch the first domestic lithium battery electric bus in Turkey in Samsun, continues its preparations. In the first stage, 10 local and national buses will be purchased. When the project is completed, the entire bus fleet of the Metropolitan Municipality will consist of electric vehicles. 10 ultra-fast charging electric buses, which will be purchased in the first phase, will start to serve in Taflan-Airport and Soğuksu region. However, this route will be extended to the 2022th of May, as Turkey's first and only Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST will be held in 19 in Samsun, the city of the National Struggle.

THE ROUTE WILL BE EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 19

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir, who said that the electric buses will be fully commissioned in the spring next year, said, “We have works and projects suitable for the festival. As of April, we will commission electric buses with lithium batteries. We will extend the route of electric buses that will serve in Taflan-Airport and Soğuksu region until 19 May. We will host 2 million people at the festival. We are planning to complete our preparations and projects by TEKNOFEST as soon as possible”.

SAMSUN WILL SUCCESS IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WAY

Saying, "Samsun will overcome this giant organization in the best way possible with its national struggle spirit, young population and interest in technology," President Mustafa Demir said, "It is an important organization for our youth. Once again, I would like to thank both our esteemed Minister Mustafa Varank and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of T3 Foundation Selçuk Bayraktar for being held in our city. We, together with our Vice President, deputies, universities, mayors, bureaucrats, and all institutions and organizations, are preparing for TEKNOFEST in 2022 in the best way possible. Our Samsun, which hosted a successful organization in the Hearing Impaired Olympics before, will host it in the best way at TEKNOFEST. The world will once again hear the name of our city with the festival that cost the world.”
