The Oppo brand has been making an intense effort to produce foldable smartphones for a long time. The company may launch its first foldable phone soon. A new rumor from China suggests that Oppo's first foldable device could arrive in November of 2021.

Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has yet to announce a launch event. However, if this rumor is true, a big announcement could come soon. The leaker named Tipster posted a new piece of information on the subject on the Chinese Weibo, which is the equivalent of Facebook. Apart from the launch date, the leaker shared many technical features here.

Surprisingly, Oppo said that the foldable phone, which does not yet have a name, will have an 8-inch foldable internal display. It will use the LTPO AMOLED panel and have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. LTPO is Samsung's patented technology for the display. South Korean Samsung reports that it will provide support to Oppo on the screen.

An earlier rumor meant that the foldable Oppo would have the same design as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, which would turn it into a tablet from the middle. It may have 10.4K resolution, a technology we've seen recently on a 2-inch Realme Pad tablet. He also talked about other aspects of the phone such as the camera that can use a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor.

According to the tipster, Oppo has confirmed that its new foldable smartphone will be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. However, by the time the company launches this smartphone, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will have already been released.

This will mean that the foldable phone will remain a little older as a processor and will use an older version in terms of performance.

However, this difference will not be huge, and considering that this will be the company's first foldable phone, a tested and experienced processor is said to be the right choice.

According to the tipster, Oppo's first foldable phone is likely to be a device exclusive to China. This means Oppo may not launch its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip phones right away outside of China, unlike Samsung, which sells its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip phones in several countries.

If we recall, Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX Fold earlier this year, but the foldable device never left the Chinese market. The tipster also reported that Oppo's foldable smartphone will not be cheap. While producing this device, the company will outsource many materials. It is said that it will most likely receive support from many proven companies such as Samsung.
