A "Firefighter Training Cooperation" protocol was signed between Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University (SU). Speaking at the signing ceremony held for the protocol, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they work with Konya's most established university in many areas and wished the protocol would be beneficial.

President Altay, expressing that Selçuk University has made great contributions to both the city and the municipality, said, “I would like to thank all the academic staff and employees for their contribution to our Konya. Today we are signing a serious protocol on firefighting. Konya Fire Brigade is one of the strongest fire brigades in Turkey. Our Konya Fire Brigade Training Center is the first and largest TSE Certified training center in Turkey. We provide serious training to firefighters from Turkey and abroad. With this protocol, our students studying at the Firefighting Vocational School will complete their training at our Sancak Fire Brigade Center with the necessary team and equipment. They will perform their internships at the fire station and hopefully provide important services to the whole of Turkey. We made a serious purchase to strengthen our fire department. We reinforced our fire department with our young firefighters who graduated from the Vocational School of Firefighting.” said.
IT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR FIRE FIGHTERS GROWING IN BETTER CONDITIONS
Selçuk University Rector Metin Aksoy emphasized that they added a new cooperation protocol between the Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University and said, “I would like to thank my President very much. Firefighters have come to the fore a lot with the work carried out in the last period. We also requested support from the Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department for the better training of young firefighters. I thank them for not turning down our support. Konya Metropolitan will contribute to the training of our young firefighters in better conditions.” he said.
After the speeches, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and Selçuk University Rector Metin Aksoy signed the "Firefighter Training Cooperation" protocol.
