Konak Municipality celebrates the 98th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey with events attended by all citizens from 7 to 70. The enthusiasm of the Republic Day will be experienced to the fullest in Konak, from parks to district centers, from streets to squares, in every corner of the district.
Konak Municipality celebrates the Republic Day with events organized all over the district. The Republic Day week, which started with the Republic Reception hosted by Konak Mayor Abdül Batur, will be experienced in a festive mood every day with events spanning the entire Konak, from Gültepe to Alsancak, from Halilrıfatpaşa to Güzelyalı. On October 26, the TSM Choir, which will be conducted by Conductor Hüseyin Güzeltepe, will take the stage at Güzelyalı Fuat Göztepe Park. On October 27, the festive enthusiasm will continue with the Republic Concert to be held at the Izmir National Library.
The picture of the Republic will be drawn together
One of the most exciting Republic Day events will be the live painting performance of “We Paint the Republic Together”. A unique painting will be created on the giant canvas placed at the entrance of Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi on October 28, with the participation of citizens. The painting, which will be created by the republic lovers by transferring colorful paints to the canvas, will also reveal a surprise photograph from the founding time of the Republic of Turkey. This year, the picture of the Republic will be drawn together.
Republic exhibition by women of the republic
İkizevler District Center, one of the newest district centers of Konak Municipality, will host a meaningful exhibition during the Republic Day week. The “Contemporary Republican Women in the Footsteps of Atatürk” Group Painting Exhibition, in which 22 female artists participated with their works, will open on October 27. The exhibition, which includes paintings, ceramics and sculptures, will be open to visitors until 5 November.
They will walk with the love of the republic
The Republic Cortege, which spreads the fire of the Republic of Konak Municipality from Izmir, will be held in the Atatürk-loving Gültepe district. The march with torches, which will start in Gültepe Meydan Park, where the Atatürk Monument greets the city, will end at the Turgut Reis Primary School, where the Republic Day concert will be held.
Concert for Republic Day
After the Republic Cortege, the people of Konakli will continue their holiday celebrations with a concert by Cenk Bosnalı. Republic Day enthusiasm will spread with tunes from Konak Gültepe on the night of October 28. On October 29, the Republic Day celebrations will be crowned with the laying of a wreath at the Atatürk Monument in Gültepe Square. On the other hand, the main service building of Konak Municipality in Basmane will be illuminated for the Republic Day and a special light and laser show will be held.
