İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu attended the opening ceremony of the fourth Bitlis Promotion Days. Emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity, Mustafa Özuslu said, “These events are very valuable in terms of showing that all corners of Turkey are one and together.”
Bitlis Promotion Days, organized for the fourth time to promote the historical and cultural richness of Bitlis, started with a ceremony in the Bostanlı marketplace. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, CHP İzmir MPs Özcan Purçu and Sevda Erdan Kılıç, CHP Ankara Deputy Tekin Bingöl, IYI Party İzmir Provincial President Hüsmen Kırkpınar, Karşıyaka Mayor Cemil Tugay, Kemalpaşa Mayor Rıdvan Karakayalı and many citizens attended.
“We are the people of a city with a 7-year-old history”
In his speech at the ceremony, CHP Ankara Deputy Tekin Bingöl said that there are citizens from Bitlis all over the Aegean and said, “We are the people of a city with a history of 7 thousand years. There is an intense internal migration in Turkey. There are different reasons for these migrations. Some are forced to leave their hometown, where they were born and raised, due to the pressure they face. We are here now. We are in Izmir, Ankara, Istanbul," he said.
He drew attention to the importance of unity and togetherness.

Aegean Region Bitlis People's Education Culture and Solidarity Association President Muzaffer Karayılanoğlu said that Bitlis has hosted many civilizations throughout history and said, “We organized such an event in İzmir to promote our values.
