An agreement was reached between the Greek aviation industry and 3 universities for the production of 3 UAVs. Named after Artihos, a mathematician, philosopher and statesman in Ancient Greece, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2024, the first Greek UAV.
After the USA and France, Greece is expanding its cooperation in the field of defense with the UK. Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced in London that they will sign an agreement with the UK that includes defense cooperation.
Dendias told Elefteros Tipos newspaper, “The agreement with the UK is not just defensive, as it is with France and the USA. It covers other topics as well, including foreign policy. Britain, a nuclear power, is both a permanent member of the UN Security Council and one of the guarantor states in Cyprus.
Greek UAVs will be unarmed and smaller in volume. Beyond these two differences, it will have separate facilities from Turkish TB2s, including communication systems and image transmission.”
