Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer attended the preliminary meeting of the Bornova Culture Island project, which includes the historically important Yeşilova Mound, Homer Valley and Levantine mansions. Mayor Soyer stated that the project was exciting and said, “The Levantines are the yeast that makes İzmir İzmir. If we live in this city with the climate and culture that we describe as many colors, many sounds, and many breaths, and if people from all over Turkey want to come to Izmir today, it is because it is yeast.”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer has encouraged the historical and cultural values of Bornova to tourism. kazanParticipated in the pre-introductory meeting of the Bornova Culture Island project, which was prepared under the leadership of the World City İzmir Association, Levantines Association and Service Sector Employees Education and Solidarity Association. Stating that the Bornova Culture Island project, which includes the Yeşilova Mound, Homer Valley and caves and Levantine mansions, shedding light on the 8-year-old history of the city, is exciting, Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “The idea of the Bornova Culture Island Project is very valuable. SözcüClerk is also chosen correctly. Perhaps one of the strongest aspects of the project is that it will be carried out with non-governmental organizations. Levantines are the yeast that makes İzmir İzmir. If we live in this city with the climate and culture that we describe as many colors, many sounds, many breaths, and if people from all over Turkey want to come to Izmir today, it is because it is yeast. In other words, it is because there is a climate that sees these differences as a wealth.”
President Tunç Soyer said, “There is a need for a festival where we will bring together everything from its gastronomy to its history, from its dance to its culture, and where we will introduce its beauties to the people of Izmir. This shouldn't just be fun. It should also be a meeting place where history and all these processes are discussed and Levantine heritage is discussed. It should be supported by a scientific study. We are ready to host this festival and congress,” he said.
“We should be more involved in this project”
Bornova Mayor Mustafa İduğ said, “You have made us very excited with this touch today.
