Urgent Action Plan in Public Transportation Against Strike in Izmir is Ready

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İzmir Metro A.Ş. and Izmir Tramway, took precautions against the possibility that the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations would not result in a compromise. 14 new lines were planned by the ESHOT General Directorate in order for the public transportation service to continue without interruption.

İzmir Metro A.Ş., which also carries out the management of İzmir Tram. Collective bargaining negotiations between the management and the authorized union continue. In case there is no agreement, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate prepared an emergency action plan. A total of 14 new lines will be commissioned all over the city in order to ensure that the public transportation service continues without interruption. While one line will be strengthened with additional flights, a route change will be made on another line. In addition to the routine flight planning, 130 additional buses will operate on the new lines. The starting points will be strengthened with expert personnel in order to quickly respond to possible problems. The new line arrangements will be as follows:

Halkapınar – Mansion – Narlıdere

Balçova - Konak (169) and Narlıdere - Konak (554) lines will serve over Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard. Fahrettin Altay – Halkapınar (12) buses will use the Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard and Alsancak Talatpaşa Boulevard routes.

İnönü Boulevard and Üçyol

Fahrettin Altay – Konak (980) buses will use İnönü Street. Fahrettin Altay - Halkapınar Metro buses with line number 581 will operate on the route of İnönü Caddesi - İkiçeşmelik - Şair Eşref Boulevard.

Buca – Bozyaka – Gaziemir

Tınaztepe – Halkapınar Metro (70); Bozyaka - Halkapınar Metro (80) and Gaziemir - Halkapınar Metro (90) buses will serve the south of the city. Yesilyurt - Konak (18) buses running to the city center will be strengthened with additional flights.

Bornova region

Bornova Metro - Konak (840) buses will serve on the route of Ankara Street - Yeşildere - Konak Tunnels. Bornova Metro - Konak buses with line number 841 will operate over Ağaçlı Yol (Industry and Regional metro stations) - Mersinli - Mürsel Paşa Boulevard. Evka 3 Metro – Konak (63) buses will run from Alsancak Şair Eşref Boulevard.

Cigli – Karşıyaka

Egekent Transfer - Konak (802) buses will serve on Anadolu Caddesi - Altınyol - Alsancak Şair Eşref Boulevard route. Bostanlı İskele – Konak (121) buses will operate over Altınyol – Alsancak Talatpaşa Boulevard. Mavişehir Transfer – Bostanlı İskele buses with line number 821 Karşıyaka It will make the last stop at the Pier.
