• October 30, 1897 The Extraordinary Commissioner of Egypt, Ahmet Muhtar Pasha, in his letter addressed to Sultan Abdulhamid, proposed that the railroad line from Damascus to Suez Canal and from Konya to Damascus be started immediately. It was discussed in Vükela i. The necessity of the line was confirmed.
• With the Armistice of Mudros on 30 October 1918, the Allied Powers seized all the German railways and the Germans there were sent to their countries.
