Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that the restoration of the Historical Hıdırlık Bridge in Tokat has been completed, and said, “We continue to work on the restoration of 31 historical bridges. Roads, bridges, inns, baths and places of worship are our title deeds on these lands.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Historical Hıdırlık Bridge, whose restoration was completed. Stating that they have been continuing their transportation and communication investments for 19 years in every corner of Turkey, from Edirne to Kars, regardless of east-west, north-south, Karaismailoğlu said, “Thanks to our infrastructure investments, which shoulder Turkey's holistic development, transportation between Europe and Asia is possible today. We became a bridge in mode. The strength we have gained in the field of logistics prepares our country for an economically bright and ambitious future. While meeting today's needs, we support Turkey in line with its goal of becoming one of the largest economies in the world, with the projects that establish our future and the domestic and national technologies we produce.

WE COMPLETED THE RESTORATION IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS OF THE HISTORICAL 861 BRIDGE

Karaismailoğlu noted that Tokat is one of the ancient cities of Anatolia, which has a great importance in terms of culture, health, sports and congress tourism with its historical assets inherited from civilizations dating back thousands of years.

“Our ancestors taught us that; Nations that do not protect their values ​​and past are doomed to extinction. With this approach, we, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, continue to work with all our strength to protect, preserve, restore and restore our historically valuable structures. Thus, while repaying our debt of loyalty to our history, we also contribute to the transfer of these historical structures to future generations. Until today, we have carried out restoration works on our historical bridges all over Turkey. Historical Malabadi Bridge, Kızılin Bridge, Taşköprü in Kastamonu, Büyükçekmece also known as Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Bridge, Ani Bridge are just a few of them. The number of historical bridges that we have added to our cultural heritage by completing their restoration has reached 395. We have completed the restoration implementation projects of 861 historical bridges.”

WE CONTINUE THE RESTORATION IMPLEMENTATION WORK OF 31 HISTORICAL BRIDGE

Underlining that they continue to work on the restoration of 31 historical bridges in Afyon, such as the Historical Kırkgöz Bridge, the Seljuk-era Develioğlu Bridge, the Roman Perpira Bridge over the Batman Stream, and the Edirne Uzun Bridge, the Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, unearthed all the historical bridges and talked to the citizens. He said that they aim to bring them together and bring them to the cultural heritage.

WE INVESTED OVER 6,5 BILLION LIRA IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION

Explaining that they completed the restorations and opened the Mimar Sinan Bridge and Short Bridge in Silivri, Karaismailoğlu used the following statements:

“We are lovers of Tokat, of Turkey. We are working day and night to provide the best services to our beloved nation on every inch of the land, to revive the economy, tourism, agriculture, industry, and enrich social and cultural life. We set out by saying that 'service to the people is service to the right'. Thankfully, we have never let the faces of those who trust us turn out to be bad. Tokat has received the share it deserves from these services so far. To date, we have invested more than 6,5 billion liras for Tokat's transportation and communication investments. In 2003, we increased the length of the divided highway, which was only 16 kilometers in Tokat, to 275 kilometers in total by adding 291 kilometers. The total project amount of the 9 highway investments that are still ongoing in Tokat is more than 3 billion 85 million liras.”

HISTORICAL HIDRILIK BRIDGE BUILT IN 1250

Karaismailoğlu, who said, “While we are implementing the most valuable projects in terms of engineering that the whole world is following, on the other hand, we also protect our works belonging to our history and culture, which have served our nation for centuries," Karaismailoğlu also gave the following information about the Historical Hıdırlık Bridge, which was opened after its restoration:

“It was built on Yeşilırmak in 1250, during the Seljuk period. Our bridge, which has survived for centuries with its inscription and original structure, has 5 circular arches, 6 legs and its length is 116 meters. This historical monument, which is among the symbols of Tokat, is an important cultural asset of the region that increases the attractiveness of the city. Roads, bridges, inns, baths and places of worship are our title deeds on this land.”
