One of the interesting activities of the 4th İzmir Gulf Festival organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality was the canoe races. The races held in 5 categories witnessed great competition and exciting struggles.
Canoe Training and Canoe Races organized as part of the 4th Izmir Gulf Festival witnessed colorful scenes. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Karşıyaka The organization, jointly organized by the Municipality, started in front of Tahir Secder Akıncı Water Sports Center. Bahadır Eroğlu, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Branch Manager and Karşıyaka Municipality Sports Affairs Manager Berkhan Alptekin gave the start of the competitions in which approximately 35 athletes registered. In the races held in five categories, the top three athletes were presented with medals and T-shirts to commemorate the day. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Branch Manager Bahadır Eroğlu stated that colorful scenes were staged in İzmir for two days and said, “We are also happy that the weather is nice today. The canoe race at the Gulf Festival, which was held for the fourth time this year, proved that İzmir embraces the sport.
