Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer attended the preliminary meeting of the Bornova Culture Island project, which includes the Yeşilova Mound, Homer Valley and Levantine mansions, which are of great historical importance to the city. Mayor Soyer stated that the project was exciting and said, “The Levantines are the yeast that makes İzmir İzmir. If we live in this city with the climate and culture that we describe as many colors, many sounds, and many breaths, and if people from all over Turkey want to come to Izmir today, it is because it is yeast.”

The Mayor said that the Bornova Culture Island project, which includes the Yeşilova Mound, Homer Valley and caves and Levantine mansions, which sheds light on the 8-year-old history of the city, is exciting.
