Another important threshold has been passed in Kuruçeşme Tram Project! New D-100 Road Opened

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams, who have been working hard for the Akçaray tram line to be extended from Beachyolu to Kuruçeşme, have passed another important threshold in the Kuruçeşme Tram Line project. In this context, the D-100 road flowing from the part of Kuruçeşme lights was closed and taken to its new location.

NEW D-100 OPENED

With the Kuruçeşme Tram Line project, the tram line will pass through the road where the traffic lights are now. While this part of the D-100 was closed to vehicle traffic, the new road was put into use as of Thursday, September 30th. By using the new D-4 road (the old highway connection road), which has now been widened and made into 100 lanes, the vehicles are moving towards Istanbul either from the D-100 or from the Motorway without being stuck at traffic lights.

290 METERS LENGTH TRAM OVERPASS

The existing Akçaray Tram Line will be connected to Kuruçeşme via the old D-100 road, which was closed to vehicle traffic as of Thursday, September 30, by passing from Plajyolu Station to the opposite side of D-100 upon completion of the works. In order to provide this transition, the Tramway Overpass with a length of 290 meters and a length of 9 legs and 8 spans is being built.

TWO NEW PEDESTRIAN OVERPASSES IN STEEL

Two modern pedestrian overpass bridges are being built in front of the private hospital and Izmit High School at the entrance of Kuruçeşme. Within the scope of the project in which the old overpasses in the region will be demolished, a 59-meter-long pedestrian overpass to be built in front of the private hospital is being built. The foot foundation works of the 52-meter-long overpass, which will be built in front of Izmit High School, have started recently. The production of modern bridges, which will be built from steel, continues in the factory environment.

TRAM LINE WILL REACH 23,4 KILOMETERS

With the completion of the Kuruçeşme tram line, the length of the Akçaray tram line will reach a double line of 10 thousand 212 meters. The single-line length of the tram will reach 3 kilometers, with a 23,4-kilometer single-line warehouse area. With Kuruçeşme station, the number of stops will reach 16.
