The Ministry of Culture and Tourism provided 2021 million 18 thousand liras for 17 projects to the cinema industry at the last support board meeting of 450. With these supports, the total amount provided to the cinema industry for 2021 projects by the Ministry in 356 reached 65 million 450 thousand liras.

In the fifth support committee of this year, 99 projects in the genres of First Feature Film Production, Feature Film Production, Distribution and Promotion Support and After Shooting were evaluated by the 8-person support committee consisting of representatives of the Ministry and the cinema sector.

Support for First Films

With the support of the Ministry, it was possible for 5 directors to make their first feature films. 5 million 3 thousand liras were given to 750 “First Feature Film Editing” projects, 11 million 13 thousand liras to 300 “Featured Motion Picture Production” projects, and 2 thousand liras to 400 “After Shooting” projects.

Support for Master Directors

By the Ministry, director Banu Sıvacı's "Günyüzü" and her first film "Bozkır", which competed at the Berlin Film Festival with her first film "Pigeon" and won the "Best Youth Film" award at the Asia Pacific Film Awards, were presented at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Director Ali Özel's movie “Expectation”, which returned with 11 awards, is among the projects supported.

Director Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun's "Creaming the Dead Society", which won the "Special Jury Award" at the Venice Film Festival with its film "Announcement", and master director Tayfun Pirselimoğlu's "Idea", which was selected for the "Cinefondation Atelier" section of the Cannes Film Festival, is a Turkish film. Erdem Tepegöz, who won the "Special Jury Award" at the Moscow International Film Festival with Pelin Esmer's "Is It Something", "Crime" by master director Derviş Zaim, and his latest film "In the Shadows" In addition to the film "Avalanche", director İsmail Güneş's "Kurban" film, which succeeded in being included in the "Top 20 Films" list at the Montreal World Film Festival with the film "The Place Where the Fire Falls", is also among the productions supported by the Ministry.

In addition, “Yıldız Dust”, directed by Ahmet Sönmez and adapted from the work of the same name by Mustafa Kutlu, an important name in Turkish literature, was one of the films that deserved support.
