UTIKAD 38th Ordinary General Assembly with Elections was held on September 15, 2021 at Hilton Bomonti Hotel. First UTIKAD Team, led by Ayşem Ulusoy, won the elections where two different teams from member companies competed.
Ayşem Ulusoy, who took over the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors from UTIKAD Former President Emre Eldener, said, “First of all, I would like to thank all our members who supported me, my colleagues in the UTIKAD Team and my family. As someone who has spent years in the logistics industry and UTIKAD, I will do my best to fulfill this duty properly.”
It started with the intense interest of the members of the 38th Elective Ordinary General Assembly of the International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers Association. In the General Assembly, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, first of all, UTIKAD General Manager Cavit Uğur took the podium and the council committee was elected. UTIKAD Honorary Member Arif Davran was unanimously authorized as the Chairman of the Council, Ayhan Özekin from Alishan Logistics as the Vice Chairman of the Council, and Osman Yarkın from Moda Denizcilik as the Clerk of the Council.
Emre Eldener, who took the podium for the last time as the Chairman of the Board of Directors before the election, expressed in his opening speech that he enjoyed working for UTIKAD during his time in this position. Eldener said, “I will comfortably hand over the task to my next friend to be elected. Because both my friends on the Board of Directors and our Executive Board worked with great devotion in this extraordinary period we are experiencing due to the pandemic.” said. Eldener continued his words by saying, “I am confident that UTIKAD will work for the benefit of the sector in the coming periods as well,” adding, “However, let's not forget that; UTIKAD has gained its increasing power and effectiveness with a sustainable management and transfer of corporate memory.”
Emre Eldener, who came back to the podium after sharing the video of the activities carried out between November 2019 and August 2021, shared UTIKAD's new application 'Mobile UTIKAD', which can be downloaded from Android and IOS platforms, with the members. Stating that they have been working on digitalization on many platforms for a long time as an association, Eldener said, “This application is an important part of our digitalization process on our behalf. We will now further strengthen our communication with members.”
After the presentation and unanimous approval of the annual report, the budget negotiations of the association and the economic enterprise were started; The conformity of the income-expenditure statements and balance sheets was approved by the general assembly.
After the financial statements were discussed and the releases, UTIKAD Former President Kosta Sandalcı presented a plaque on behalf of the association to UTIKAD President Emre Eldener, whose term of office expires. After Emre Eldener's farewell speech, Cavit Uğur, who served as UTIKAD General Manager between 2011-2021, was invited to the stage. Former UTIKAD President Turgut Erkeskin and UTIKAD President Emre Eldener presented a plaque of gratitude to Uğur. With his short and emotional speech, Cavit Uğur said goodbye to both the members and his colleagues in the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Attending the meeting under the name of “UTIKAD from the Past to the Future” after the lunch break, Dr. It continued with the evaluation of the bylaw amendment proposals of the team led by Kayıhan Özdemir Turan.
Dr. The proposals of Kayıhan Turan Özdemir and his team to change the name of the association, to increase the number of Members of the Board of Directors and to seek document requirement regarding the membership of the association were put to open voting. However, the proposals were rejected because the sufficient number of acceptances could not be reached.
After the vote on the bylaws, the presidential candidates Ayşem Ulusoy and Dr. Kayıhan Özdemir Turan came to the stage one by one and gave a speech to the members and the election was started.
As a result of the elections held with secret ballot and open counting method, First UTIKAD team led by Ayşem Ulusoy won. Ayşem Ulusoy, who took the floor after the election results were announced, said, “I would like to thank all my members who supported me, my colleagues in the UTIKAD Team and my family. As someone who has spent years in the logistics industry and UTIKAD, I will do my best to fulfill this duty properly”. Expressing that UTIKAD will continue to work for the benefit of the international transportation and logistics industry, Ulusoy said, “We will carry our association to even better points together. UTIKAD Presidency is a very valuable trust, I will continue to work to develop the sector by putting my hand under the responsibility like the Presidents before me.”
